My Top 20 list of movies for 2007. (so far)

This is a personal list that I had watched over the past 12 months in 2007. There are many more good movies but since I did not personally watch them, I am not including them in this list. I would say that it was very difficult to grade the movies in terms of cinematography, acting and other measures. Each movie has its own merits, strengths and weaknesses.

Basically, I was impressed and swept off my feet by the awesome cinematography in the fantasy flicks. I think there is a child residing in the heart and soul of everyone. The fantasy speaks to the innermost being. I would like to believe that there is a parallel world where good reigns and people live happily ever after. I do not think the heresy affects the faithful. The religious piety would not be shaken in their beliefs by some hocus pocus from fairy tales. Who in the world would believe in some mythical legends in fiction? If children are prone to such influence, they are not mature enough to read, watch or go near the fantasy genre.

Secondly, I have a soft heart for the movies that promote some traditional values like family unity, intrinsic values, morality, friendship, and humanity.

The last in the list is a sorry excuse of a movie. It is there as a place marker to have a standard of comparison to remind me what a lousy movie is supposed to be.

This is my list of movies. They are the movies that I have watched. They are not arranged in a specific order of preference except that those higher up in this list rank higher than the ones at the bottom. Of course, every reader may beg to differ since there are many factors and criteria that influence judgment. If you have some time, please join me in grading this list.
